High Expectations as to the Print Quality are Still Far from Being Surpassed
The surprise was run into. The specialists have been talking about a forthcoming introduction of a new STAR-PRINT model range for months already, since it was announced at the Label-Expo in Brussels in 2009. Now it is the first time that the new web offset machine for the packaging and label print is to be seen at a manufacturing enterprise.
At the moment there exists no other machine in the world, which could meet the competition and serve the markets of flexible packaging and carton, shrink-sleeves and wrap-arounds or, say, in-mould labels with such an outstanding quality.
Impressive press quality
The visitors including a great number of experts from the leading inland and foreign printing houses specializing in packaging and label print showed how impressed they were. The quality of print is phenomenal and machine handling is really simple that is how they sum it up. The technical advantage in comparison to other machines now available at the market is based on the hydraulically fixed wear-free offset sleeves with a bearer-ring technology created specifically for this very machine.
A simple sleeve change which could be carried out by just a single person was demonstrated as well. The sleeve system itself represents a packed insert cassette. Due to this cassette solution it has become possible to configure the machine as a so called hybrid version. One could also employ flexo-, gravure- and screen printing inserts as an open platform version. The machine is available with 3 web widths 52 cm, 76 cm and 92 cm and size variability of 610 mm to 1,118 mm. With that, the machine offers you the highest flexibility possible. From fluid packing via complex presentation packaging with gold and silver as decoration ink and up to thin foils – nearly all the demands can be met. And all that at a production speed of up to 400 m/min. A higher performance is guaranteed with that. The best print quality, high flexibility, German machine building quality provide for the best customers satisfaction, ensuring a quick Return on Investment. Thus these are the best arguments convincing to step in a new machine generation.
Besides the leading German printing houses mainly the foreign visitors were the ones who showed a great interest in a high-quality technology, Made in Germany as well.
It was in particular the previously unknown sleeve solution print quality that resulted in enthusiasm during practical presentations.
After the delivery of the first machine to a printing house in Europe outside Germany the next machine is being built at the moment, it being equipped with a total of 10 print stations.
